Human Performance

Hello everybody. This portion of the blog will deal human performance. Success, strength, and accomplishment are by choice, not change. It is a system, a lifestyle, that will either drive each of us to success or failure. the choice is ours.

The first step is simple attitude. Life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I choose to deal with it. There are decisions to be made to obtain goals and there will be bumps in the road. The path to all goals is one of adversity. In fact, adversity is the only way to true strength. It is much better to look at adversity as a way of growth. This is not to say that you should make things harder than they are, but rather, to set goals, train smart, and be ready to adapt to what comes your way. Simple things make the most profound difference.

I have a challenge for you. Take something in your life, something relatively small that is hindering your body health, etc., something that you know is not good for you. Work this next week to change that small bad habit into a good habit. Take a month to accomplish the goal and then pick something else. See the difference in your body and your life in the next three months. Start small and build confidence.

I would love to hear some of your stories so please email me at chiroromano@juno.com.

Professional Fighter - Chris Gates

In Tupelo Mississippi, the general population has yet to realize the popularity of MMA worldwide even though they have one of the South's best schools right there in town at Tupelo Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The head trainer at the school, Chris Gates, is professional in every sense of the word.

My first encounter with Chris left me with an impression of a "quiet giant" kind of guy. He seems very down to earth and doesn't care for a lot of fluff and he doesn't waste a lot of words. But Chris is passionate about training fighters and from what I have seen, he is well qualified to do so.

If you have the chance to meet Chris, DO NOT pass up the chance to do so. If you know Chris, tell him you saw this article and to keep up the good work he is doing.

New to MMA

I have been watching MMA for years, but never once have I thought of trying it for myself. I recently had the good fortune of meeting Doctor Romano and Chris Gates of Tupelo Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and MMA and I want to put onto this site how impressed I was with their operation.

This is like nothing I have ever seen before. I have done karate, boxing, etc. and was in the military for 10 years but I never knew there was a school that covered so many aspects of life. These guys are professional to say the least. They don't just train you to fight, they train you for life. Their attitudes are fantastic and are the most helpful instructors I have ever seen. They actually "care", which is rare in our society today.

Probably the most significant thing I noticed was that they don't promote that you go out and fight, but help you to feel more confident, centered, healthier and just well rounded for life in general.

I can't wait for my first class and I plan to have all my family there shortly. All three of my daughters and my wife are excited to go have some real fun. Something no other school has ever come close to accomplishing. How refreshing to have such an outstanding club right here in Tupelo, Mississippi.

Keep up the good work guys!
